Kempton Park Boxing Club had a very successful 2018 and the club’s chief coach, Peter Armstrong, believes that 2019 can be an even better year for the club.
The club has re-opened for the 2019 boxing year and is looking for boys, girls, men and women interested in taking part in the sport.
“Kempton Park Boxing Club is one of the oldest boxing clubs in South Africa. Established in the 1950s, the club has over the years produced many South African champions and boxers that have represented the national team in international championships such as the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and Continental championships.
“Amateur boxing is an individual sport where a lot of self-motivation and self-belief can be built and it is a sport that has many rules and regulations that look after the safety of the boxer.”
The club is situated at Kempton Park Indoor Sports Centre on Green Avenue. Training days are every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 8pm.
