Lewis Hamilton has been reminiscing about, well, reminiscing on his Instagram.
The reigning Formula One champion posted a series of pictures related to an advert he shot back in 2016 for Allianz, along with the caption ‘Throwback to the future’.
The 34-year-old shared behind the scenes footage from the day of filming, including getting a cosmetic makeover to transform himself into an ageing pensioner.

The F1 champion was transformed into an ageing pensioner for an Allianz campaign
The advertising campaign, which featured work by Oscar winning make-up artist Mark Coulier, was part of Allianz’s partnership with Mercedes, which aims to promote courage and trusting your instincts.
In the ad, at the time, the Mercedes driver, complete with white hair and beard, recalls his first three world title triumphs with his grandkids in front of a fire. Of course, he now has five.
He claims that he won his titles using caution and reliability, whilst the advert cuts to clips of him performing daring overtaking manoeuvres and crashing cars.

His granddaughter labels the claims ‘stupid’ which prompts Hamilton to respond ‘that’s my girl’.
The former McLaren driver then urges his grandchildren: ‘Dare to follow your instincts, dare to follow your dreams.’
Hamilton will go in search of sixth title this coming season, which would take him outright second in the list of all time titles and one behind all-time leader Michael Schumacher.
The campaign gets underway in two months’ time, with the Australian Grand Prix which will take place in Melbourne on March 17.
